Just a very quick post before I hit the local supermarket with hubby to get our Xmas food shopping. I’m bracing myself for the horrendous queues.

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas . For those that don’t celebrate, I hope that you enjoy the holiday break with friends, families and loved ones.

It’s all about these people.

I will pop in again in a few days time after I’ve recovered from my hangover and indigestion :D

Till then, a huge hug to all my readers around the globe.

2 more sleeps ’till Santa, 2 more sleeps ’till the big fat fella comes down your chimney and brings you presents and drinks your beer, 2 more sleeps ’till Santa.

Are you ready? We are, well almost. All the pressies have been wrapped and cards written and sent out.

Our tree is up

Hubby put up his Christmas villages. He usually places them in our oriel window in the living room. Trouble is we can’t enjoy them when the curtains are shut, which this time of the year is most of the day :) So, he made good use of an old pasting table, separated the two halves and laid out the houses, trees and people.

We don’t bother too much with hanging decs as we spend most of Xmas sticking them back up on the ceiling. As the kids have gotten older we don’t bother so much with decorating the house out. A far cry from when they were little and every single space would be adorned with tinsel, garlands, lights, etc….. aaaaah, happy memories :)

All that is left is to hit the supermarket for the food shopping. That’s a treat for us for tomorrow.

Can I also just say a big thank you for your comments to yesterday’s post. You have help reinforce my affirmations, mwah!

Well hello, hello. I hope that you are all well. Yes, I’m still floating about dear readers. It’s been a while since I last posted, 6 weeks  exactly. I did dither about whether to carry on blogging or not. I had a bit of a crisis and I had to think long and hard why I blog.

Like many of you, I follow a good deal many blogs. Some only have a few followers, others have a large following. I somehow found myself comparing my blog to theirs and wondering what made them so popular. Was it the content, the writing style, the frequency of posts, giveaways, etc, etc. It made me feel somewhat inferior, you know, a bit like back in school and being the weird kid in the playground that people shun.

I didn’t really enjoy my childhood/teenage years much. I was always being compared to others who were always prettier, smarter, organised, focused …. perfect and popular! Oh, how I longed to be popular,  I tried, but all in vain. I was me and I didn’t know how else to be. Fast forward 30 odd years to the present day and I find myself in blogland where it feels like I’m back in that playground again. On the fringes, surrounded by pretty, smart, organised and popular bloggers.

I’m not however a teenager but a mature woman of a “certain age”. What do I care if my blog is popular and receives pages of comments or not. My blog is an online outlet for my crafting makes. I’m happy to share my triumphs and disasters with other like-minded crafters out there, but it isn’t important if people stop by or not. It is my oasis of calm in a troubled world. It’s not perfect, it’s a bit crazy and zany at times, a bit like its author, but it is my oasis. I can go there knowing that whatever I post is fine and is accepted. Most importantly I “blog without obligation”. Some of you may already be familiar with this. If not, follow the link to find out more about Blogging Without Obligation.

So let me stop rambling, normal service will be resumed. I will be blogging again. Maybe not every day, but most certainly when I feel I want to share my crafty makes, my “Moley Makes”.
