Hello dear readers. Thank you for stopping by again and if you’re a new reader, welcome. Have you got your favourite beverage to hand? Fab!!
Yes, I think it’s October but you could be so easily fooled if you’re in the UK. We have experienced some extraordinary weather recently. It got to 29 degrees Celsius here yesterday!! Unbelievable!! It was hotter than Athens, LA, and other famously hot and sunny spots. A bit too hot for my liking, I don’t seem to cope too well with the heat now. How different to my teenage years when I was an avid sun worshipper. Remember that long hot summer of ’76, all those trips to the standpipe ….. ahhh, memories.
It really isn’t the weather for knitting, so I’ve done a bit of crochet instead. I’ve completed this shrug.

It’s this one on the front cover. Very quick and easy to complete and perfect to wear over a strappy top in the cool of the evening. I had some Cotton DK leftover from this project, which was more than enough to complete it.
I’ve also been making up my squares for my October SIBOL Swap partner. I’m really enjoying this swap, it’s a shame that there aren’t more people taking part, but I suppose it’s not everybody’s cup of tea. You do need to commit to a swap and if you’ve got lots of projects on the go, it’s sometimes difficult to find the time to fit everything in.
My September squares were a bit delayed in getting to me but here they are.
Lovely colours and the yarn was oh, so soft. Thank you so much Merchy
Merchy is from Spain and she has a blog called A Little Green Valley. Although written in Spanish, she does translate it into English too. I quite enjoy non-English blogs. I like to see what people in other countries are busy creating.
Oh, I nearly forgot that October is
Socks, the perfect portable project. There is a group over on Ravelry. I’m off to sign up as I have a bit of sock yarn in my stash plus it’ll get me started on my Christmas gift knitting. Yes, I know I mentioned the C word. Sorry. It seems so very far away, especially when it’s so hot but there’s only 84 days left till Christmas. So if you haven’t started, you may want to start looking through your queue pretty soon.
Well, I think I’ll take my own advice and go and check for some sock patterns to get started. Till next time. Happy crafting.
