Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time
Well, I’ve finally admitted defeat. these bloomin’ 2″ soy pillars just do not want to conform. Bit like me really. I just cannot get them wicked correctly. The sides keep bulging and unlike paraffin soy is brittle so you can’t just hug the pillar as it is burning. To try and wick them so that they consume just means “blow outs”.
After discussing this with other fellow chandlers most now won’t make them as they are a PITA. So they have been relegated to the “seemed like a good idea at the time” file.
So next project - well, it will be playing around with 3″ soy pillars and if my funds will allow palm wax …….
