Social Networking for Independent Crafters

Published by The Cosy Candle at 7:24 pm under Independent Handmade Crafters

Hiya peeps. Just thought I’d let anyone who’s out there what I’ve been up to. It’s all a little bit quiet on the candle making side at the mo. I think everyone stocked up before Christmas.

So while it’s a bit quiet I’ll be looking for various ways and means of getting new customers and traffic to my website. Its all about social networking these days. My Space, Facebook, etc. There does seem to be a few crafty networking site springing up now. This is good for us handmade craftworkers. It is amazing just how many talented people there are out there. The trouble is we all struggle to get our little craft businesses up and running. Most of us just do it as a sideline with the hope of turning it into a full time business. This can prove to be very difficult indeed as it isn’t the easiest of things to make huge profits. Then again for most of us it is just a passion and something that we all enjoy doing.

We do, however, need as much exposure as we can get so I will be plugging more for the handmade option. Let’s face it, how many times have we all been stumped on ideas for presents. Everything we see in the High Street shops all seems to be the same. Most of it cheap rubbish imported in from China. If we truly want to give a unique and well thought of gift then we should all be looking at buying from these creative crafters. With handmade items we can all appreciate the skill, time, effort and love that went into creating a product. Something that is severely lacking in mass production.

What I will start to do is to add more links to creative sites. They will be featured on the right hand site of my blog. If there are any cool creative crafty sites that you would like to recommend then just drop me a comment. I’ll check it out and if it’s suitable it’ll get added. This will be an on going project so be sure to keep checking back for new updates.
