Promotional Day
Just thought I’d give you an update. My friend’s grand opening was a resounding success. Considering it was a Sunday and it was freezing cold with sleet, around 200 people stopped by. I ended up having a small display, in the end. I had one of my tarts burning in the reception area. Everyone commented on the lovely smells as they walked in. I took a few orders for my candles, not many, but then it was more of a PR exercise for me.
One woman stopped and asked which brand I was selling. I said they were my own. She stared sort of blankly. I explained that I made them myself and she was most surprised. She said she only burns Yankee and M&S candles - I didn’t bat an eyelid. She went home with a price list and of course a goody bag from the salon which had one of my melts in. She may be impressed with my sample, you never know.
All in all it was a successful day. It made me realize that I have a product that is both good and affordable. I just hope that the people who purchased them will see it that way too and come back for more!
